Malvern Star Flying Wedge

Rodger emailed me from Sydney. “We’ve had this bike in the family for years and would really like to do it up for my oldest brother’s 60th birthday.”

While it had been in the shed, it was still in a pretty awful state when we go it. Everything was rusty and some of it pretty dirty as well, but apart from missing the front fender, everything looked like it was there and original.

We stripped the bike completely and then cleaned up and filled the frame before painting and new decals applied.

The wheels and hubs were stripped and along with the sissy bar, handlebars and mudguards, sent to be cleaned, sanded smooth to remove rust pitting and chromed.

The wheels were rebuilt and new disc brake parts sourced along with NOS chain guard, saddle, brake levers and stem.

New bearings, cranks and pedals were fitted and the T-Bar shifter was refurbished and fitted and gear and brake cables installed for the finished product and one very happy customer.
