Kennedy Road Bike

James came in with this lovely old Kennedy road alloy road bike that had been languishing in the shed for too long. A bike he’d ridden heaps back in the day when he was unencumbered by life. He’d had a few bikes since, but this was his love and he wanted to get it back into race condition so he could get back into riding now that kids had grown and pressure was off a bit.

Brilliant paint job. Have worked on a few Kennedys, but thus us the best paint job I’ve seen.

So it was mostly just the ravages of time, tired, crusty, perished, nothing too serious. We stripped and cleaned and polished it furiously till it sparkled like it was still on the showroom floor.

Then we refitted most of the original parts straight back on. New gear and brake cables and housings, new sealed bearing bottom bracket, new bar tape, tyres and tubes, new chain and it was back to new!

Might have to put that saddle down a bit I think!

I really like those wheels!
